Violet + Rinus van Alebeek
Violet is a performer of improvised electro-acoustic musique concrète, the owner of the Zeromoon record label, and Director of Sonic Circuits Festival. Using unconventional sound sources (dry ice, old record players, autoharp, microcassettes, etc), he layers successive walls of noise into gargantuan citadels of shimmering light.
Rinus van Alebeek went on the run from literature sometime in the nineties and ended up thoroughly entangled in magnetic tape. He uses environmental recordings to narrate a story somewhere 'between noise and pure poetry'.

Scheurende heavy metal, zeemzoete jazz of vurige flamenco. Vandaag kent de gitaar talloze gezichten. Deze transformatie van klanken is niet onopgemerkt voorbijgegaan aan de componisten van de afgelopen eeuw. Nico Couck laat in stompbox.guitar zien hoe deze klanken hun intrede hebben gevonden in de wereld van de nieuwe muziek. In het monumentale Sequenza XI probeert Luciano Berio de passie van flamenco en het beheerste van de luittechniek te verenigen. Tristan Murail gebruikt het harde rockgeluid als eerbetoon aan obscure horrorfilms. Verder horen we Japanse Gagaku-muziek voor elektrische gitaar in een compositie van Lois V. Vierk en het minimalistische ...until... van Clarence Barlow. En ten slotte nieuw werk van Argentijn Claudio Baroni, bekend om zijn betoverende soundscapes...
