David Friend

In Europe for the Gaudeamus Interpreters' Competition, this innovative American pianist attempts to redefine the concept of a solo recital. We're curious to hear a piece called "Cities Change the Songs of Birds" that caused an uproar because of its bad language, and another called "I think it would be beating a dead dog if we do anything but present this statement."

Venetiaans Bal

Robot demonstration concert

We're holding a special concert for the ArtBots Robot Talent Show with a chance to ask questions and find out more about the robots.

It's a little different from our usual concerts: instead of working with a specific theme, we will be playing a range of different repertoire with explanations of how the robots work.

With interactive as well as fully automated productions by Godfried-Willem Raes, Kristof Lauwers, Sebastian Bradt and Emilie De Vlam.

Come along to this free demonstration and get the answers to those questions you never dared ask!

M&M orchestra: Solstice

For the 1985 winter solstice, Logos created a soundscape from the bells of Ghent that was broadcast all over the world. This year's project with the M&M robot orchestra is still a bit of a secret. But we can promise a show full of light, dance and musical surprises that makes the longest night of the year pass in an instant. There will be pieces by Phill Niblock, a ephemerid-based new composition by Kristof Lauwers, Namuda Study #20 by Godfried-Willem Raes -a dance production-, a new piece by Sebastian Bradt and a reworked piece by Moniek Darge with performance by Helen White.
